Thomas Paine Atelier

Portland, OR

Built in the Queen Anne style in 1896, TPA decided to design the kitchen in the Farm house style to give it a more updated fresh look while using subtle French influences.  We added a very large picture window which opened the space up and flooded it with morning light.  By adding the over sized traditional Normandy range hood, I think we grounded the space and brought balance to the scale of the window.  This kitchen was published in the Ann Sacks annual, highlighting its use of the hand glazed ceramic " sur la mer" tile in Moss.

This Kitchen was Designed to fit the Equestrian lifestyle the clients were so passionate about.  Located in Sunny Rancho Santa Fe, Ca, 1 mile from the Polo and Dressage grounds.
We at TPA wanted the cabinetry to have the look of  finely worn saddle leather. Space was at a premium so storage was vital.  A custom pot-rack was useful in freeing up valuable cabinet space.
